Sails Bar & Restaurant is a relaxed waterfront restaurant on the Cairns Esplanade, overlooking Trinity Inlet. Come in for breakfast by the water, settle in for a long lunch, or catch up over cocktails, wine and a cold Hemingway’s beer.

The food is fresh, generous and made for the tropics, bringing together Australian produce, Asian fusion flavours and Peruvian influences in a menu designed for sharing, grazing or settling in for the full experience.

Looking for breakfast in Cairns with a waterfront view? Sails serves breakfast every Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 11.30am, right on the Cairns Esplanade.

Keep things classic with eggs on toast, smashed avo or a Big Brekkie, or try something a little different. Our breakfast menu includes pulled pork Benedict with chipotle hollandaise, chicken & waffles, crab & corn fritters, coconut pancakes and a tropical smoothie bowl. There’s also a Little Sailors breakfast menu for kids 12 and under.

Coffee is flowing from breakfast, with juices, smoothies and mocktails available too. From 10am, make a morning of it with a Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Espresso Martini or a Hemingway’s breakfast beer.

Walk-ins are always welcome, but booking ahead is the best way to secure your table by the water.

The Sails menu moves easily between familiar favourites and flavours worth discovering.

Share tacos, croquetas or crispy squid, tuck into beer-battered fish and chips or a Sails cheeseburger, or explore dishes inspired by the flavours of Asia and Peru. Think cured reef fish ceviche with leche de tigre, chargrilled octopus, chilli beef stir fry and reef & beef with creamy Peruvian steak sauce.

Seafood plays a big part too, including our Sails Seafood Rice loaded with reef fish, prawns, scallop, squid, pipis and red claw yabby.
