Tanya Murphy

Tanya grew up in a small country town in Western Australia, and her main musical influence is Aussie rock; with a generous side-serving of Bob Marley, and hits from the 80s, 90s and noughties. She has been playing guitar since age 14 and cut her teeth in the music scene of Perth before moving to Cairns to pursue her dream of becoming a scuba diving instructor at the Great Barrier Reef. This also turned out to be a good move musically as Tanya soon found herself playing bass for a number of local bands including Drewboy, Grand Theft Audio and Eddie Skiba before taking it to the next level and achieving her dream of becoming a singer-guitarist in January 2018. Since then she has been performing regularly as a soloist at venues all over Cairns. Her repertoire ranges from chilled-out easy-listening through to dancefloor hits depending on the occasion!
